Spring!, Monthly Events, Ayurvedic Tips & Oil of the Month
Hello lovely people,
Have the first cherry blossoms and magnolia flowers appeared in your neck of the woods?
The temperatures are slowly warming up in the Pacific Northwest, interspersed with rain showers, and I am utterly delighted by the gentle arrival of the first spring signs.
Daffodils!
Pine siskins in the tree below my balcony!
Young stinging nettle!
What a gift to live through another spring, to witness nature emerging from its slumber, and watch myself deepen my syncing with seasonal rhythms as I age. This winter I’ve explored deep rest and surrender even more, and I feel like a brand new person emerging this month, refreshed, excited, energized.
More to come on that soon.
I’m also just back from a short trip to Europe, and I’m so grateful I made a visit to Kew Royal Botanical Gardens happen. What a treat!

Ayurvedic Tip & Essential Oil of the Month
April carries the momentum of spring: longer days, rising energy, and the feeling that it’s time to get moving. In Ayurveda, this is a time when we gently lighten Kapha’s heaviness with foods and practices that awaken and energize.
This month, focus on steady, sustainable energy:
Enjoy lighter, seasonal meals with plenty of greens and warming spices, while still keeping your meals regular to support digestion.
Move your body in ways that feel good and enlivening, not depleting: focus on strength and engagement rather than intensity.
If you notice yourself procrastinating or, on the flip side, taking on too much, try pacing your days like a marathon, not a sprint.
There’s growth happening all around you, and within you, too. Tending your energy with care now helps create vitality that can carry you through the seasons ahead.
Grapefruit essential oil is a fantastic cleansing and decongesting ally as it helps stimulate the lymphatic system. Its astringent qualities may be helpful with the elimination of excess fluids.
Its bright energy supports states of low energy and mental/ emotional fatigue. It is also a good friend when wanting to tackle “heavy feelings” like blame, shame and guilt, as well as negativity, pessimism and moodiness.
